Last weekend, we talked about partnership at Riverlawn. It is so important that we as the church understand the need for us to be committed to partnership in the gospel together. We are reminded what Paul told the Philippians about their partnership:
“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. 6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.“ Philippians 1:3-6
We know that God never intended for us to live out our Christianity on our own. He created community. He created fellowship. He created the church. All those creations are for His glory and for our benefit! God desires us to walk this faith journey together. Jesus instituted His Church to be the vessel by which we walk this journey together. We want every believer to be connected (and partnering) with a gospel-centered church. If you are reading this, you may have decided to do that with Riverlawn, and for that I am honored to be partnering with you.
You may have been attending Riverlawn for a month, a year, or twenty years. Regardless of the amount of time you have been involved at Riverlawn, you should become a partner. The body of Christ at Riverlawn needs you! We are encouraging all of you to take the Partnership Class to see what Riverlawn is about and what Riverlawn believes partners should be about.
During September and October, we are having a partnership drive. Everyone who completes Partnership Class during the next two months will get a gift card to go to a restaurant to celebrate your partnership! There are three ways you can become a partner over the next two months. You can attend the in-person class starting October 11, take the partnership class online, or do a 1 on 1 to go over partnership with our Discipleship Pastor. Attending the class does not mean you are a partner! The decision to become a partner is yours to make after you finish the class. For more information, or to sign up, email info@riverlawn.org.
